Bolstr - UI/UX Designer

Who are we?

Bolstr is a web based marketplace that is changing the way your favorite local businesses access funding and community support to drive growth. We are the hub that connects young, motivated business owners with real community investors that are passionate about helping them thrive.

Where are we?

We’re a relatively small team stretched across New York, Chicago, and Green Bay (yup, cheese curds).

Product design

Bolstr has been operating with our current design for nearly two years, and we’ve received a tremendous amount of feedback from the small businesses that have both successfully and unsuccessfully raised funds on our platform. From more focused branding of the fundraising campaign pages, to better ways to discover and invest in businesses on Bolstr, you’ll be using actionable data to help improve the user experience of business owners and investors alike. With this project, you’ll truly be helping create Bolstr 2.0.

Key skills we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of user interface and user experience design
• A pixel-perfect artistic sense
• Ability to brainstorm and wireframe new ideas
• Ability to collaborate with product owners and engineers on user experience and application flow
• HTML5/CSS3 (HAML and SASS preferred)
• Javascript (Coffeescript preferred)
• Ability to work within the view layer of a Ruby on Rails app (not strictly required)

Bolstr - Outside Sales Consultant

Join the awesome team at Bolstr as an on the ground Sales Consultant, and start building your career now! This is a part-time commission based position where you are able to make your own schedule, and you are rewarded based upon your success!

About Bolstr:

Bolstr is a new marketplace where individuals and patrons can invest in, and support the local small businesses that make their neighborhoods home. We have created an innovative platform where small businesses can crowdfund investments from individuals in their community.

Location:

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Identify and call or visit local businesses to drive new client acquisition.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to meeting and closing.
  • Be a key player and contributor to the direction of a new and growing sales team.
  • Be the ultimate closer; crush sales targets on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • In this position you will be selling all day, every day!

About You: 

  • You are someone who wants to get into sales and maybe even has some experience. 
  • You are coachable, flexible and self-motivated; you can hit the ground running, and your drive to succeed is off the charts! 
  • You’ve always thought that sales would be something you would be good at and wanted to try.
  • You are an excellent communicator with professional phone skills, and superb interpersonal skills.
  • You are an achiever: if you participated in competitive sports, the Greek system, or school government, we want to hear from you.
  • You are an incredibly enthusiastic person and interested in working with small businesses.
  • You are a winner! You are able to improvise to ensure that you succeed!
